The guide
YouTube Font Generator โ Create Eye-Catching Video Titles and Bios
A YouTube font generator swaps your letters for Unicode characters that already look bold, monospaced or boxed, so the style survives when you paste it into a title, description, comment or channel page. YouTube has no font menu, so this is the only way to get heavy text into those fields.
The catch is search. To YouTube, ๐๐ข๐๐๐ก๐ and CODING are different words. Use styled text for emphasis and leave the words people search for plain.
Where can you paste styled text on YouTube?
| Field | Limit | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Video title | 100 | Style one or two words, never the main keyword |
| Description | 5,000 | Bold section headers, plain everything else |
| Channel name | 50 | Works, but plain is easier to find |
| Comments | 10,000 | A styled header on a pinned comment |
| @handle | 30 | Not allowed: letters, numbers, _ - and . only |
Click-through rate
The Visual Psychology of High-Contrast Typography in Boosting Click-Through Rates (CTR)
Heavy letters catch the eye because they break the pattern. A results page is a column of titles in the same weight and size, and one bold phrase is the first thing a scrolling viewer lands on.
That only works if it's rare. Put a whole title in bold and it reads like shouting, and on a page where three other creators did the same, nobody stands out.
Here's a version that tends to work:
Too much
Better
I tried 30 days of coding and ๐ง๐๐๐ฆ happened
The second version keeps "30 days of coding" searchable and puts the weight on the one word that creates curiosity. It's also shorter on screen, since bold Unicode letters are wider than normal ones.
Width matters more than people expect. Search results show roughly the first 60 to 70 characters of a title on desktop and fewer on a phone, so a styled word at the end may never be seen.
Your thumbnail still does most of the work. Treat title styling as a small test: change one thing, then compare impressions click-through rate in YouTube Studio over the same number of days before and after.
Descriptions
Where do styled fonts help most on YouTube?
Descriptions are the best spot. Most viewers skim them, and short bold headers make a 5,000-character wall of text easy to scan.
Example description
ใ๐๐๐๐ฅใ Camera, mic and lights I used, all linked below. โ ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฆ 0:00 Intro 1:45 Day 1 setup 6:20 What went wrong // ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐
Notice the timestamps are plain. YouTube only builds chapters from normal digits, and it needs at least three of them, starting at 0:00. Styled numbers like ๐ฌ:๐ฌ๐ฌ break chapters completely.
Pinned comments are the other good place. A bold "๐ฃ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐:" or "ใUPDATEใ" header gets noticed above hundreds of replies.
Mistakes
What should you never style?
Most creators who try this once make at least one of these mistakes:
- Search keywords. Nobody types ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ into the search bar.
- Hashtags. #๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด is a different tag from #coding, so it won't join the page people browse.
- Timestamps, links and @mentions. Styled versions stop being clickable.
- Angle brackets. YouTube won't accept < or > in titles and descriptions. Use ใ ใ or ใ ใ instead.
Only need one bold or italic word?
The bold and italic tool gives you just those styles, side by side.
