Mirror Text Generator โ Flip, Reverse and Reflect Your Words
A mirror text generator swaps each letter for a look-alike that faces the other way, then reverses the order, so โTextโ comes out as ษxษT and reads as if you held it up to a mirror. Nothing is an image. Every result is plain Unicode text you can paste into a bio, a caption or a username field.
The trick is borrowing. Unicode has no โmirrored Tโ, so the tool uses ษ, a letter from an old African alphabet that happens to face the right way. Most of the flipped shapes come from phonetic symbols, Cyrillic, or Lisu, a script from south-west China.
There are really four different effects hiding under the word โmirrorโ. People mix them up all the time, so here they are side by side.

Water Reflection is the fifth style in the tool. It stacks your original line on top of its flipped-letters copy, so โLunaโ sits above หฅnuษ like a name reflected in a lake.
Why it works
Why does reversed text make people stop scrolling?
Your brain reads familiar words as shapes, not letter by letter. Flip the shape and that shortcut fails for about half a second, which is exactly long enough to stop a thumb mid-scroll.
That half second is the whole point. A creator bio that reads Nova โ ษvoะ (the Arrow Reflection style) gets a second look because the eye tries to โfixโ the right half.
Keep it short, though. One mirrored word next to a normal one is a hook. A whole mirrored sentence is a puzzle most people skip.

Know your audience
Can you use backward text in professional titles?
Mostly, no. On LinkedIn, a CV or an email signature, a mirrored job title looks like a rendering error to a recruiter, and applicant tracking systems read ษฟษboษ as random symbols rather than โcoderโ.
There is one sensible exception. If your work is visual (a designer, illustrator, tattoo artist or sign-writer) a single mirrored word in a portfolio headline can show personality. Keep your real name and job title in plain letters right next to it.
- Fine: a studio name like โMIRROR โ ะฏOะฏะฏIMโ on Instagram, where the plain version sits beside it.
- Fine: an event hashtag or a puzzle post where people are meant to decode it.
- Avoid: your name or job title on LinkedIn, CVs, invoices or anything a search box needs to find.
- Avoid: usernames. Instagram, TikTok and X handles only accept AโZ, 0โ9, dots and underscores, so the field rejects the look-alikes outright.

Which symbols make the best creative mirrors?
Symmetry does the heavy lifting. Letters like A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V, W, X and Y look the same in a mirror, so words built from them (MOM, WOW, TOOT) reflect perfectly without a single look-alike.
Upside down is where it gets fun: WOW turns into MOM and MOM turns into WOW. Posts that play on that swap get shared because people check it on their own phone.
- Brackets swap sides. ( ) [ ] { } < > all flip, so โ(hi)โ mirrors to โ(iส)โ with the brackets still facing inwards.
- Punctuation has twins. A question mark mirrors to the reversed โธฎ, and 3 becomes ฦ.
- Frames help. The Sparkle Mirror style wraps the result in โง โง so a short word looks deliberate rather than broken.
- Palindromes need no tricks. The Palindrome style reflects your word onto itself: โNovaโ becomes โNovavoNโ.
Where it breaks
Why do some letters not flip?
Some letters have no reversed twin anywhere in Unicode. In our set, f, g, G and J stay as they are in the horizontal mirror, which is why โgamingโ mirrors with a normal g in it.
Fonts are the other weak spot. The borrowed Lisu capitals (๊, ๊ท, ๊ค) and a few phonetic letters are missing on some older Android phones, and they show up as empty boxes there. Check the result on the phone your audience actually uses before you post it.
- Character counts jump. X counts many look-alikes as 2 characters, so a 140-character mirrored line can hit the 280 limit. The counter above uses Xโs own weighting in X post mode.
- Search canโt find it. Nobody searching for โNovaโ will find ษvoะ, so keep a plain copy of anything you want discovered.
- Skip the right-to-left trick. Some sites suggest the hidden U+202E โright-to-left overrideโ character to fake reversed text. Platforms strip it or flag it, because scammers use it to disguise file names. This tool never adds it.
