How do you fit a styled bio into 30 or 150 characters?
Count the extras, not just the letters. Brackets add 2, a divider with its spaces adds 3, and every line break counts as 1.

One catch the counter canโt fully promise. Bold, italic and mono letters like ๐ก are stored as two โcode unitsโ behind the scenes, and a few text fields count those, not letters. โ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐โ is 10 characters here but 19 in that kind of field, so leave a few spare in a 30-character name.
Verified profiles
Can a verified profile use fancy fonts in its name?
Use them in the bio, not the name. Meta has told Meta Verified subscribers that once a profile is verified, changing the profile name, username or photo means going through verification again. Your Threads name comes from Instagram, so styling it there can trigger that. Check Metaโs help centre before you change it, since the rule has been updated before.
Snapchat is stricter about who you appear to be. Its community guidelines treat display names as part of impersonation checks, and fan or parody accounts have to say so in the display name itself. A styled real name is fine, but a name styled to look like a verified creatorโs isnโt.

Do these fonts look the same on iPhone and Android in dark mode?
The letters mostly do; the symbols donโt. Some symbols have a colour emoji version, and iPhones in particular like to swap it in. A solid heart โฅ can show up as a red emoji on an iPhone and a black text heart on Android, which looks odd on a clean profile.

- Thin styles fade first. Soft Italic and small caps lose weight on a black background, so check them on the Dark preview.

When the app says no
What if an app rejects your accents or symbols?
Accented letters are the usual problem. Bold and italic Unicode alphabets have no accented versions, so โChloรฉโ in Clean Bold comes out as ๐๐ต๐น๐ผรฉ, with a plain รฉ in the middle.
And if the รฉ was typed as an e plus a separate accent mark, some name fields strip the mark or refuse the save. Retype it from your keyboardโs accent menu so itโs a single character, then try again.
- First fallback: Small Caps. แดสสแดรฉ mixes in better than bold, and small caps letters have wider font support.
- Second fallback: plain letters with one bracket pair, like โChloรฉโ. Brackets are the part that makes it look designed anyway.
- Last resort: keep the name plain and put the styled line in the bio.

Can people still find you if your name uses special fonts?
Not by that name. Search matches plain letters, so someone typing โNovaโ wonโt find ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ฎ. Threads and Snapchat both lean on usernames for search, and a username canโt be styled anyway.
The pattern that works is plain text for anything people search for, and styling for decoration around it. For example, โNova Reyes โ ๊ฐษชสแด แดสแดแดแด๊ฑโ keeps the name findable and styles only the tagline.
