Guides for creators · Examples you can copy

The Glyphset Blog

Practical guides on styled text, profile formatting and how Unicode really behaves on each app.

How to Use Our Editorial Blog Guide

  1. Read the monthly case studies. Each month we pick one real creator problem, like a bio that gets cut off or a name that shows as boxes, and work through the fix with examples you can copy.

  2. Track typography updates here. New posts appear at the top of this page. When an app changes its character limits or a new Unicode version adds symbols, it gets written up here first.

  3. Search for a specific guide. Type a word like "Instagram" or "Unicode" in the search box, or tap a category, to see only the guides on that topic.

This is where we explain the why behind styled text: what works on each app, what breaks, and what readers actually respond to. Every guide is built on how the characters and apps actually behave, not on guesswork.

Why Real Reading Value Trumps Generic Search Engine Marketing Copy

A guide is only worth your time if you can do something with it straight after. So every post here ends with a specific action, like a bio layout you can copy or a setting you can change, not a list of vague tips.

Plenty of font articles repeat "use fancy fonts to stand out" and stop there. That skips the useful part: X counts a bold letter as two characters, a styled hashtag doesn't link to the real tag, and screen readers can struggle with a fully styled bio.

We'd also rather publish fewer, better guides. One post that fixes your problem beats ten that circle around it with the same keywords.
