The guide
LinkedIn Font Generator โ Optimize Post Formatting for Higher Organic Reach
A LinkedIn font generator converts your words into Unicode characters that already look bold, italic or monospaced, so you can format a post even though LinkedIn's post box has no bold button. Copy a line here, paste it into a post, headline, About section or comment, and it keeps its style.
Formatting doesn't raise reach on its own. What it does is get your first line read, and a post that gets read and commented on is the one LinkedIn keeps showing.
Where can you use bold text on LinkedIn?
| Field | Limit | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Post | 3,000 | Bold hook line, plain body |
| Headline | 220 | Keep your job title plain so recruiters find it |
| About | 2,600 | Bold section labels like ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ |
| Comment | 1,250 | One bold word at most |
| Article | Long | Not needed: articles have a real bold button |
B2B copywriting
The Strategic Advantage of High-Contrast Typography in B2B Copywriting and Feed Positioning
A LinkedIn feed is mostly grey text in one weight, so a single bold line is the first thing the eye lands on. In B2B, where posts compete with dozens of similar updates, that half-second is often the whole battle.
The line that matters is the first one. LinkedIn shows about three lines of a post before "...see more", often around 200 characters on desktop and fewer on a phone. Everything below that is invisible until someone decides to click.
Compare these two openings:
Blends in
I'm excited to share some thoughts on how our team approached sales this year.

Here's what changed.
The bold did less than the numbers did. A specific result in heavy type works; vague bold text is just louder vagueness.
Keep it to one bold line. Posts with bold scattered through every paragraph read like an advert, and B2B readers scroll past those fast.
Styles
Which style should you use for what?
Three styles cover almost every professional post. The rest are for small touches.
Sans-Serif Bold
๐ง๐ต๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐บ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐
Hooks and section labels. The most readable on small screens.
Serif Bold Italic
๐บ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐'๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐.
Quotes, lessons and a line you want remembered.
Monospace
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ -๐ ๐ท๐ด๐ฐ๐ณ~๐น
Commands, file names and specs in technical tips.
One warning about monospace: anyone who copies your command gets the styled characters, not real ones, and it won't run. For a tip people will actually paste into a terminal, add the plain version too.
Mistakes
What should you keep plain on LinkedIn?
- Your job title and skills. A recruiter searching "Product Manager" won't find ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ.
- Hashtags. #๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด is a different tag from #marketing, so nobody following the real one sees it.
- @mentions and links. Styled versions don't tag anyone or open anything.
- Whole paragraphs. Long styled text is tiring to read and unusable for screen readers.
Only need bold or italic?
The bold and italic tool shows just those styles, side by side.
