Double Underline Generator – Two Lines Under Your Text That Survive Pasting
A double underline generator adds a “combining double low line” mark (U+0333) after each letter, so “Double” becomes D̳o̳u̳b̳l̳e̳ with two lines underneath. It’s plain text, so the lines stay when you paste into apps that have no underline button.
Two lines read as “final” in a way one line doesn’t. Accountants double-underline totals, and the same instinct works online for a key number, a deadline or one word in a bio.

What most guides miss
Should you use underline marks or a separate rule line?
Marks travel with the letters; rules don’t. A marked word wraps onto the next line with its underline still attached, while a rule is its own line of ═ characters that stays where it is.
Rules are also sized by count, not width. “TOTAL” gets five ═ characters, which lines up in some fonts and falls short or runs long in others. Use rules under short capitalised words, and marks for anything that might wrap.

Usernames
Can you double underline a username?
No. Instagram and TikTok usernames accept only letters, numbers, periods and underscores, and X usernames only letters, numbers and underscores, so the marks are rejected.
Display names accept them, but the length adds up. Each underlined letter uses 2 characters, so a 30-character Instagram or TikTok name fits about 14 underlined letters. Underline your first name only and leave the rest plain.
Feeds
How do you stop double underlines getting cut off in feeds?
Underline less. Every underlined letter doubles in length, so a 60-letter underlined sentence costs 120 characters and gets cut sooner in previews, comment rows and LinkedIn’s “…see more”.
Rule styles have a second problem. They add a new line, and previews that show only the first line hide the rule completely. For anything that appears in a feed preview, use a mark style on one or two words.
Accessibility
How do screen readers handle double underlined text?
Unevenly. Some readers skip the marks and read the word, while others announce “combining double low line” after every letter, which buries the word.
Rule lines can be worse: a line of ═ may be read as “box drawings double horizontal” once per character. Keep underlines to a word or two, and put important details like dates and prices in plain text next to them.
Display checks
Why does the double line look broken on some phones?
Mostly because of descenders. Letters like g, p and y hang below the line, so the double line crashes into them; capitals avoid that, which is why Double Caps looks cleanest.
Older Android fonts sometimes show a dotted circle ◌ where a mark can’t attach, and thin double lines fade in dark mode. Check both the White and Dark previews before you copy.
