0 / 280

X allows 280 characters. Changing case doesnโ€™t change the length.

Acronyms

Keep leaves words typed in capitals (NASA, SEO) or mixed case (iPhone, YouTube) as they are. The setting is ignored if everything you typed is in capitals.

How to Use the Text Case Converter

  1. Input your text. Type or paste a headline, paragraph or list, one item per line. Pick X post, Instagram, LinkedIn headline or YouTube title so the counter matches.

  2. Pick the case from the grid. Compare Standard, Titles, Code and Other. Use Title Case (Chicago) or (AP) for headlines, and set Acronyms to keep words like NASA and iPhone as typed.

  3. Copy with one click. Tap Copy and wait for the green โ€œCopied!โ€. The button keeps its size, so the layout doesnโ€™t move while it confirms.

Tip: Paste text straight from an all-caps source, like a PDF heading, and use Title Case to fix it in one step.

The guide

Text Case Converter โ€“ Title Case, UPPERCASE, lowercase and Sentence Case

A text case converter changes which letters are capitals without retyping anything: โ€œa guide to writing with confidenceโ€ becomes โ€œA Guide to Writing with Confidenceโ€ in Title Case, or โ€œA guide to writing with confidenceโ€ in Sentence case. The output is ordinary letters, not a special font, so it works in every app, search box and screen reader.

That makes this the one tool on the site you can use for serious copy: headlines, email subjects, product titles and code names.

What most guides miss

Whatโ€™s the difference between Chicago and AP title case?

Long prepositions. Both styles lowercase short words like a, the, and, of and to, but they split on words like โ€œwithโ€, โ€œfromโ€, โ€œintoโ€ and โ€œoverโ€.

Chicago keeps every preposition lowercase, whatever its length. AP capitalises any word of four letters or more. Both always capitalise the first and last word, and this tool also capitalises the word after a colon.

Brand names survive both. Words you type in capitals (SEO, NASA) or mixed case (iPhone, YouTube) stay as typed, unless you switch Acronyms to Convert them too.

Headlines

Which case works best for headlines and titles?

Title Case for most headlines, Sentence case for anything that should feel conversational. Both fit anywhere, because case changes never add characters: a 100-character YouTube title stays 100 characters.

Avoid all caps in ads and listings. Google Ads rejects ads with excessive or gimmicky capitalisation, like โ€œFREE SHIPPINGโ€, and Amazonโ€™s listing guidelines ask sellers not to write product titles in all caps.

Length

Does changing case change the character count?

Almost never. Case changes swap letters one for one, so a 150-character Instagram bio is still 150 characters in UPPERCASE.

There are two exceptions. The German รŸ becomes SS in capitals, so โ€œstraรŸeโ€ (6 characters) turns into โ€œSTRASSEโ€ (7). And the code and hashtag cases remove spaces, so snake_case and #HashtagCase come out slightly shorter than the original.

Older devices

Will converted text display on older phones?

Yes. Unlike the fancy font styles elsewhere on this site, case conversion uses the same Aโ€“Z letters every device has had for decades, so nothing turns into boxes.

The only surprises are language-specific. In Turkish, a capital i has a dot (ฤฐ), but this tool uses language-neutral rules, so โ€œistanbulโ€ becomes โ€œISTANBULโ€. If a word you rely on comes out wrong, send it to linkjuiceworld@gmail.com and weโ€™ll look at adding a rule for it.

Readability

Is all caps bad for readability?

For anything longer than a few words, yes. Capitals all have the same height, so words lose the shape readers use to recognise them, and a paragraph in capitals reads as shouting.

Case also matters for accessibility. A screen reader reads #thequickguide as one long word, but #TheQuickGuide as three, which is why accessibility guides recommend Hashtag Case (also called camel case) for multi-word hashtags.

  • Use capitals for: labels of one to three words, like NEW or SALE.
  • Use Hashtag Case for: every hashtag with more than one word.

FAQ

Text Case Converter FAQ

Which case should I use for headlines and titles?

Title Case for most headlines and Sentence case for conversational ones; avoid all caps.

Google Ads rejects excessive capitalisation like โ€œFREE SHIPPINGโ€, and Amazon asks sellers not to write titles in all caps. Case changes donโ€™t add characters, so a 100-character YouTube title still fits.

Does converting case change my character count?

Usually not; letters are swapped one for one.

The exceptions are รŸ, which becomes SS in capitals, and the code and hashtag cases, which remove spaces. The count on each card shows the exact length for the platform you picked.

Will converted text work on older phones and computers?

Yes. It uses ordinary Aโ€“Z letters, so it displays everywhere.

Only language-specific letters can surprise you, like the Turkish dotted ฤฐ, which this tool doesnโ€™t apply. If a word converts wrongly, email it to linkjuiceworld@gmail.com and weโ€™ll look at it.

Is it safe to write in all caps?

For a short label, yes; for a sentence or more, it reads as shouting and is harder to read.

For hashtags, use Hashtag Case (#TheQuickGuide) so screen readers read each word separately instead of one long string.

Whatโ€™s the difference between Chicago and AP title case?

Chicago keeps all prepositions lowercase; AP capitalises any word of four letters or more.

So Chicago writes โ€œWriting with Confidence from Day Oneโ€ and AP writes โ€œWriting With Confidence From Day Oneโ€. Both capitalise the first and last word.
