What is Invisible Text and How Does a Blank Character Work?
Invisible text is a Unicode character that takes up a real slot in your text but draws nothing on screen. An app sees an actual character, while people see empty space. That's why a name field that refuses to be left blank will often accept one.
Regular spaces can't do this job. Most apps trim spaces from the start and end of whatever you type, so a name made of five spaces becomes a name made of nothing. Then the app rejects it.
Why does a blank character get past filters when a space doesn't?
It comes down to how Unicode labels each character. A regular space is labelled as whitespace, and apps are built to strip whitespace. The Hangul Filler (U+3164) is labelled as a letter, because it belongs to the Korean alphabet.
So a filter checking "is this name empty?" sees a letter and waves it through. The character exists for a dull technical reason: older Korean text systems used it to pad unfinished syllables. It has been part of Unicode since 1993, and most fonts draw it as a wide blank.
Is it really zero-width?
Not always, and this trips a lot of people up. The Hangul Filler and Braille Blank both take up visible width, like a space. Only the zero-width characters, such as U+200B and U+200C, take up no room at all.
Zero-width sounds better, but it's usually the weaker choice. Apps strip zero-width characters far more often, because they're a known way to hide things inside text.

Common Uses for Empty Space on WhatsApp and Social Platforms
The most common uses are sending a blank WhatsApp message, leaving a name or status looking empty, and keeping empty lines in a bio. Each one works because the app counts the blank as real text.

Blank WhatsApp messages
WhatsApp won't send a message made only of spaces. Paste one Hangul Filler and tap send, and your friend gets a bubble that looks completely empty. It's a harmless prank, and it also works for a blank "About" line.

Empty lines in Instagram bios and captions
Some apps collapse empty lines, which squashes a neatly spaced bio into one block. Put a single Braille Blank on each empty line and the spacing survives. Here's a common layout: name on line one, a blank line, then three short lines about what you post.

Nameless group chats and profiles
A WhatsApp group with a blank name shows only its photo, which some friend groups use as an inside joke. Profile names are hit and miss, though. TikTok, Instagram and Discord filter many blank characters out of names, so expect to add one visible character.

Paste one to three Hangul Fillers into the name field. If the game refuses it, add a single visible character such as a dot or ツ next to the blanks. Most games that reject a fully blank name will accept a mostly blank one.
Test before you pay. In Free Fire and PUBG Mobile a name change costs in-game currency or a rename card, so a rejected blank name wastes nothing, but an accepted one you dislike does.

How Do You Know the Blank Text Actually Worked?
How do you use the Test Box?
Paste into it, and the counter tells you exactly what's there. If you copied 3 Hangul Fillers, it should read 3 characters, 3 invisible and 0 visible. A count of 0 means your clipboard was empty or an app stripped the characters on the way.
It also catches blanks you didn't know about. Paste a suspicious username from a chat and it will list any hidden characters inside it, with their codes.
Why do some people see a box instead of nothing?
Their device has no font that includes that character, so it draws an empty box as a placeholder. This happens most with the Braille Blank on older Android phones and some smart TVs. Switching to the Hangul Filler usually fixes it.
