Sparkle Decorations โ Star Frames, Letter Sparkles and Micro-Clusters
Sparkle decorations are small star and sparkle characters placed around or between your letters, like โง[Star]โง, โSโ โtโ โaโ โrโ or โห๏ฝกโ Star. Theyโre ordinary Unicode symbols, so they paste into a display name or bio and stay put.
Most of them come from the Dingbats block, a set of printerโs ornaments added to Unicode in 1993. The tiny clusters mix in bits of other scripts, like the Japanese half-width full stop ๏ฝก and the superscript plus โบ.
Which sparkle layout fits a 30-character name?

Frames cost the same whatever the word. Letter styles grow with every letter, so a 10-letter name in Star Letters needs 39 characters and wonโt fit a 30-character name field.
Usernames
Can you put sparkles in a username?
No. Handles only take a small set of characters: Instagram allows letters, numbers, periods and underscores up to 30 characters, TikTok the same up to 24, and X only letters, numbers and underscores up to 15.
Sparkles go in the display name instead. Thatโs the bold line above your handle, and it allows 30 characters on Instagram and TikTok and 50 on X.

How do you stop sparkles getting cut off in feeds?
Keep the name short and the sparkles symmetrical. Comment rows, notifications and โsuggested for youโ cards cut long names with โโฆโ, so a name like โโห๏ฝกโ Starlight Studio โ๏ฝกหโโ can end up as โโห๏ฝกโ Starlight Stโฆโ with a lonely sparkle on one side.
Two fixes work. Use a one-sided cluster like Cluster Lead, which looks deliberate even when the end is cut, or keep the whole name under about 20 characters so short previews show all of it.
Accessibility
How do screen readers read sparkle symbols?
By their Unicode names, which can get long. A screen reader may read โ as โstar operatorโ, โง as โwhite four pointed starโ and ๏ฝก as โhalfwidth ideographic full stopโ.
Letter styles are the worst case. โSโ โtโ โaโ โrโ can come out as โstar operator, S, star operatorโ for every letter, which turns a four-letter name into a sentence of noise. For names and anything important, use a frame and keep the letters themselves plain.

Display checks
Will sparkles display the same on every phone?
Mostly, with one exception: โจ. Itโs a colour emoji, so it looks different on iPhone, Samsung and Google phones, while โง โฆ โ โ and โฉ stay in your text colour and flip to white in dark mode.
Run a quick check before you post. Look at the card on both the White and Dark previews, paste it into the app, and view your profile from another phone if you can.
- Donโt fake a badge. Symbols like โ or โ next to a name can look like a verified badge, and apps can treat that as impersonation.
- Watch the clusters. The โ and โง in Cluster Pair are tiny and can disappear at small sizes on older Android phones.
